Associate Director of Education  
(part-time, with potential for full-time in the future, remote)

The Associate Director of Education will be an inspirational learning guide combining experience-based professional expertise and judgment about higher education strategy (consulting on the substance of studies as well as process of application) with skills for managing a team of tutors, mentors, and junior educational consultants. The Associate Director of Education will work alongside Account Managers and under the supervision of the Director of Education to oversee all aspects of intellectual and preprofessional growth and educational planning for 4-6 students in the 2025-2026 academic year, with the potential for increasing this number in following years.

We are seeking two Associate Directors of Education to join our remote team, of whom one should possess a STEM background.

Priority deadline is May 1. Final deadline is May 9.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality, tailored progress planning, progress tracking, strategy consultation, and ongoing management for students of various academic levels and with various goals (school, university, professional), maintaining professional and supportive communication with the student and family;
Foster a supportive, motivating environment to build students’ confidence and help them discover and achieve their highest dreams;
Maintain regular communication with the Hermiona academic and operations teams (24-hour response time) to manage student success with maximum efficiency;
Stay updated with the latest changes, strategies, and best practices associated with elite school and university admissions in addition to job readiness skills.

We expect to see in the Ideal Candidate:

You are looking for 15-20 hours/week in the next year but are open to increasing that in the future;
• You have experience in management, business communication, and/or work with clients;
• You have an undergraduate degree from a top-25 university in the U.S. or UK and a graduate degree (or are in the process of completing one) in any academic field;
• You have completed some form of pedagogical training, including teaching workshops for graduate students, and have experience in syllabus writing and course design;
• You are organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage deadlines effectively in a remote environment;
• You have general familiarity with entrance exams such as SAT/ACT or SSAT/ISEE, and also IB, A-levels, GCSE, and AP examinations;
• You are looking for a role that has the potential to become your main source of income within 1-2 years.


Qualifications:

At least 2 years of experience in an academic role (includes teaching and research roles while a Ph.D. student) at a university;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner to motivate students with diverse learning styles and create/manage expectations of families with professionalism and empathy;
• Comfort with virtual business communication platforms (Slack, Monday) and ability to maintain an up-to-date calendar at all times;
• A strong desire to make a long-term impact on students’ education through tutoring and other roles within the company, with the willingness to commit to at least 2 years with potential for advancement into a senior role;
